The Florida Writers  Foundation, Inc. (FWF), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation promotes literacy by enhancing writing skills in children and adults. We provide educational grants to existing programs and initiatives as well as develop new programs through our many volunteers.

FWF volunteers have made a difference by visiting elementary schools for reading days, sponsoring poetry contests, donating books to underprivileged schools, and contributing funds to middle school writing contests.

Helping to raise funds for the Foundation is its sister organization, the Florida Writers Association.  This trade nonprofit of some 1,500 members will be hosting a Silent  Auction at its annual writers’ conference in October and a Celebrity Writers Workshop that takes place right before the conference. Hundreds of writers, editors, publishers, film directors, and others in the industry will gather for a long weekend of writing workshops, networking opportunities, and award presentations.
